Meta has announced that you can now use your WhatsApp account on up to four mobile phones, or a combination of phones, tablets and laptops.
Many car dealers are using WhatsApp to communicate with customers as it is one of the main players in the instant messaging market, this change means that all of your sales team can respond to customer enquiries
Until now, WhatsApp multi-device has only allowed you to use the same account on one primary device and up to four linked devices. But now, you can add up to four additional smartphones to the account, or a combination of up to four devices.
WhatsApp said that this feature is rolling out to all users within the coming weeks.
How to link multiple smartphones to your WhatsApp account?
To use WhatsApp on a new device, follow these steps:
- Install WhatsApp on the new device.
- When prompted, scan the QR code on your primary phone.
- On your primary phone, go to Settings > Linked Devices > Link a Device.
- Tap Link a Device.
- Scan the QR code that appears on your new device.
- Once the devices are linked, you can use WhatsApp on both devices.
One thing to know is WhatsApp’s new syncing system allows you to use your account on multiple devices, even if your primary device is not nearby or turned on. However, WhatsApp will automatically log you out of your other devices if your primary device is inactive for more than 14 days.
